Frequently Asked Questions

Without a comprehensive exam, estimating the cost of treatment is impossible and could result in inaccuracies. At Toothsavers Dentists, we know the families in Mount Annan are hardworking and need to fit their dentistry into their budgets, which is why we provide a full treatment estimate before starting any procedure and will outline the gap you can expect after health fund payment.

We work with all health funds to maximise benefits for our patients. For the convenience of our patients, we accept multiple payment options.

  • Cash
  • Credit
  • EFTPOS
  • Payment plans

Payment is expected at the time of treatment. If you need help breaking the costs out over time, speak with one of our front office team members who will be happy to guide you through the application for patient financing.

It’s also important to remember that you do not need to complete every recommended procedure in a single appointment. We can divide treatment into manageable phases to spread the cost over time, starting with the greatest needs first.

QIP or Quality Innovation Performance is an accreditation given to a dental practice that has demonstrated its commitment to providing excellent patient care. A practice that has achieved this voluntary accreditation has integrated National Safety and Quality Health Services into its existing systems and is dedicated to continually improving its standards as part of an ongoing process.

Why Should I Choose a QIP Accredited Dental Practice?

By choosing a QIP accredited practice, you gain confidence and peace of mind from knowing you will receive the very highest standards of clinical care, protecting your safety and your dental health. QIP Accreditation is a lengthy process, and it is a choice, not a requirement which demonstrates a practice’s commitment to their patients. QIP accreditation provides patients with complete transparency while ensuring privacy is always protected. When visiting an accredited practice, you have the right to be shown respect, to be kept fully informed about your treatment and to be involved in any decision-making processes.

Why Has Tooth Savers Become Accredited?

We chose to become accredited because Toothsavers Dentists is fully committed to providing our patients with the very best dental care and our team collaborates closely to ensure every treatment provided is the most appropriate for your oral health needs. As part of our accreditation, Toothsavers Dentists is continually evaluating our systems, and we adhere to the very strictest of protocols to make sure you and your family are safe during every visit.

Please ask if you would like more information or to see our certificate of accreditation and we always welcome your feedback.

At Toothsavers Dentists, our dentists and hygienists aim to provide the type of personalised dental treatment plans that prevent the loss of natural teeth. Of course, life sometimes has other plans. We recommend tooth extractions only as a last resort to protect the surrounding teeth and overall oral health.

Some situations that lead to teeth extractions:

  • Teeth broken-off at or below the gumline
  • Bone loss due to periodontal disease
  • Auto or sports accidents
  • Infection near the nerve
  • Orthodontic extractions

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Because of their location at the very back of the mouth, wisdom teeth (third molars) often become problematic, causing pain, overcrowding and pressure on nearby teeth. We evaluate young adults as part of the comprehensive dentistry we provide to our patients. A panoramic x-ray helps determine the growth of wisdom teeth and whether you might benefit from extractions.

Gentle Teeth Extractions

We provide comfortable dental extractions and supportive post-surgical care to improve the overall patient experience. For patients who are nervous, we offer nitrous oxide sedation to calm the nerves.

If you have a painful tooth or think you may need an extraction, we welcome you to get in touch with our Mount Annan dental clinic and our dentists will outline all of your options for treatment.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
