Your First Visit
At Toothsavers Dentists, located in Mount Annan, we want every patient to have the best chance at a healthy, beautiful smile. We look forward to welcoming you to our practice.
Upon arriving, you will be greeted with a smile from one of our friendly front office staff. We will collect the medical history and new patients forms you have filled out ahead of time, or if you wish to fill them out in our practice, we ask that you arrive a few minutes early and enjoy our comfortable welcome area.
Meet and Greet with Your Dentist
We feel it is essential that patients have an opportunity to develop a relationship with their dentist. We don’t rush patients and enjoy developing a good rapport with those we serve. You will have time to discuss your oral health concerns and any cosmetic goals you may have, and your dentist will discuss the options with you.
Comprehensive Oral Exam
Your first appointment includes an extremely detailed examination of your mouth, as we will want to assess your current dental health. Our dentist will gently check the condition of your teeth and gums for any signs of problems.
Dental Hygiene (Dental Cleans)
In many cases, we can arrange a dental clean during your new patient exam. Our hygienist is extremely gentle and will make you feel right at home. More importantly, you will leave the clinic with that smooth, fresh feeling that only comes after having your teeth cleaned by a highly trained professional.
In some cases, patients with periodontal disease, or who have some catching up to do, may require a follow-up dental clean appointment. We will always discuss the details with you.
We will also take a full set of dental x-rays during your first appointment. This will give us a clear picture of your dental health so we can provide the most appropriate treatment recommendations or preventive dental care plan.
Oral Cancer Screening
An oral cancer screening is an essential part of every new patient exam. Your dentist is often the first healthcare practitioner to identify cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions that can be life-threatening. As with other types of cancer, early detection dramatically improves the long-term prognosis.
Once your dentist has an opportunity to identify any oral conditions and listen to your goals for your smile, they will discuss how to achieve the healthy, confident smile you deserve.
Give us a call to book your next check-up and clean. We welcome patients of all ages and look forward to meeting you.
